Holiday Looks: How to Be Ready for Any Occasion

Holidays are coming closer, which means two things: there will be dozens of parties to attend and a lot of fashion and style dilemmas! We all want to look exceptionally good at festive gatherings but choosing an appropriate outfit and makeup style can be a bit tricky. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered: here are five holiday looks for different occasions to inspire you.

Office party: a classic LBD + a bit of sparkle

Parties in the working environment are a good chance to show a different side of yourself to your colleagues. It’s about mingling and maybe getting a bit closer with your office crush. Still, you should follow the business attire etiquette and make it a bit festive through accessories. Choose a knee-length LBD, simple stilettos, and then add a bit of sparkle with a sequined clutch purse – you can even make one yourself! Keep your makeup neutral while making your eyes pop: champagne-hued shimmering eyeshadow, curled lashes, and black eyeliner will do the trick.

Holiday cocktail party: a bodycon midi dress

Sipping colorful tasty drinks while mingling – who doesn’t love cocktail parties? For a head-turning look, choose a bodycon midi dress: it will enhance your curves while the proper length will give you a dash of sophistication. Style your hair in big Old-Hollywood waves and aim for a more dramatic look with bold lips and framed eyes. An even out complexion is the key to a flawless look: choose a concealer to cover undereye circles, discolorations, and blemishes. Yellow-tone shades are best for covering blue undereye circles while peachy shades cover the brown circles the best. If you plan on fully framing the eyes, use a kohl pencil instead of a liquid eyeliner: it will provide softer definition.
Family gathering: rock that ugly Christmas sweater

Nothing says Christmas more than another pair of fuzzy socks and flannel PJ’s your grandma bought you! Let’s not forget that reindeer sweater you wear only once a year, perhaps similar to the one worn by Mark Darcy in the “Bridget Jones” movie. Holiday family gatherings melt our hearts: wear a warm sweater, simple skinny jeans, and a pair of ankle boots or UGGs. Simple BB cream (or lightweight foundation) and a few coats of mascara will be enough to look lovely in family pictures.

Dinner party with friends: leather skinny jeans + a turtleneck

Going to a holiday dinner party with friends gives you a lot of room to experiment with different styles. If there isn’t a specific dress-code, try the edgy look: combine leather skinny jeans with a light gray turtleneck sweater. Finish up your look with simple black patent leather heels and a red cross-body purse. Style your hair in a messy bun and try some winter-inspired hair ornaments such as shiny snowflake hair clips. Red lipstick is mandatory for this sexy-chic look!

New Year’s Eve: steal the spotlight with a lace dress

Sequined dresses are truly eye-catching but they make the cliché choice for New Year’s Eve. If you want to add a bit of mystery to your look, go for a backless midi lace dress. You can never go wrong with black, but try some other, unusual color such as hunter green or dark purple. This way, you’ll stand out from the crowd and give your look authenticity. As for the makeup, it’s okay to go a bit over the top: think glitter, smokey eyes, and glossy lipsticks! Try different looks and pick the one that suits you.

If you’re usually the heart of the party, there’s no reason not to dress accordingly! With a little bit of effort, you can be the most stylish guest.
