Introducing Dressed to Love

Hello my beauties! My name is Charity, the mind and outfit hanger behind Dressed to Love, this weekly fashion post for Youer Than You!

This outfit was so much fun. I got the sweater from a li’l boutique that my boyfriend owns with his mother and it is as comfy as it is cute! I’m super into the open/lacy/unique back trend right now so you’ll be seeing a lot of similar styles. The dark-wash jeans I thought were a great companion and a good transition piece into fall, though I’m sad I won’t be wearing my stretchy, light wash, hi-rises much anymore. And the boots? My Abuela got them for me years ago because she had a coupon for Kohl’s. A $100 pair of knee-high Candie’s for $33!

(That’s another thing you’ll see a lot of from me – bargain shopping. As a broke 21-year-old who likes clothes and shoes a lot, I’ve learned a thing or two about saving and stretching that I hope to share with you).

At the beginning of the little shoot that I did with my boyfriend a few afternoons ago, we came upon one of our favorite little friends (or rather, she came upon us).

Now, about Dressed to Love…

My aim here is not to tell you what you “should” or “shouldn’t” be doing fashion-wise. Of course I’ll talk about my favorite trends and colors that are in and similar things so those of you who are interested can keep up. But my biggest goal with Dressed to Love is in the title. My goal is to love you by helping you love yourself. The way you choose to present yourself to the world is entirely in your own hands. Your fashion statements are the first impression you make (and in a lot of cases, the only impression you make). As you take this journey with me, I hope to encourage you to experiment in your own personal style, find things you love and things you hate, find colors that make you shine and styles that make you want to dance, but most importantly, dress in a way that makes you fall in love with yourself a little every time you catch a glimpse of your reflection in a store window.

Darlings, I want to encourage you to be confident, to be brave, to think beyond the confines of the way you always have, to love all creatures around you as the walking stories they are, and to love yourselves as the gorgeous, brilliant, wild-and- tender-hearted little sparrows and larks and ravens you are.

You radiate magic.

So here’s to dressing in a way that makes you feel like you do.
